clean design, highly functional,
easy to make
tube clasp
A tube clasp is a simplified box clasp with the “box” being a section of tubing.
Join me to learn how to make a tube clasp. The class includes materials for 3 clasps, and an illustrated PDF
We’ll be using brass tubing and wire to learn the method. The materials kit includes enough brass to make three clasps, giving you plenty of opportunity to understand the nuances. I’ll share the specific measurements so you can translate the process to silver if you wish, but the brass clasps are cool too.
Prerequisite skills: You must be able to solder, file, and cut with a jeweler’s saw.
The materials kit includes tubing, half-round wire for the tongue, and jump rings, all sized to work together. Once you see how everything fits, you’ll be able to translate the technique to tubing of any size. It’s a great introduction to the traditional box clasp, but much easier to accomplish.
This is a fast-paced class, but don’t worry, I also provide an illustrated PDF of all the steps.
Please be in touch with any questions.
